Shirts for Silas

Silas has autism. Government funding isn't enough to give Silas his best chance. Our first goal is to raise $3000 to pay for him to go to the US to get a brain scan at a Dr. Amen clinic. This brain scan will give us loads of information about how Silas' brain is functioning and how we can better help him, even down to what kinds of foods he should be eating to make his brain function at it's best. Please help us raise the money to give Silas the best life possible.

The story behind the quote:

One sunny afternoon I was sitting on my mom's back lawn with my sister Jill. I was telling her how I'm just making the word "autism" common for Silas...so it's not taboo...it's just always been there for him. Suddenly Silas spoke up and said "I'm not autism I'm handsome". Ohhhh we laughed and laughed. Perfect Silas. It's perfect because it's true. He's NOT autism...he's Silas.

I tend to grow weary of fund raising things that put autism in a negative light. This quote is funny and it proves a point. Yes autism is hard and it can be negative but it's a big part of my beautiful boy, so I choose to see it in a positive light.
