The Urban Crafter was set up in 2007 by instructor and jewelry designer Tonya Troye who is now the Creative Director. It began with a few workshops around the Bay Area and within two years has grown to be Vallejo’s most popular training craft studio. <br /><br /> Tonya first started attending beginners beading “class” in 1997 for fun and loved it so much that she made the brave move to set up her own jewelery business, making and selling jewelry. It was only natural for Tonya to began teaching jewelry making classes, she was a professional trainer by day. When she became a partner in Beads in Pomegranate Seed’s Vallejo crown jewel bead shop she decided to set up The Urban Crafter with the vision of crafting a world-class fun and accessible craft studio workshop center in Vallejo.
