About
Matthew Flinders, commander of the Investigator, circumnavigated Australia in 1802 and 1803. He named the continent Terra Australis or Australia on his map published in 1814. This store is a tribute to his journey and the many iconic places he named. These include Cape Leeuwin, The Great Australian Bight, Kangaroo Island, Investigator Strait, Bass Strait, and The Great Barrier Reef. If a national holiday Australia Day were to be declared in honour of his naming of the country and in recognition of his achievements, no better man could be so honoured.
