The Artist’s Curiosity Shop

Imagine stepping into a small shop filled with unexpected and wonderful things. You may not even know what drew you in, but once inside, you find yourself staying — looking closer, moving from one object to another, discovering things that are completely different from each other and yet somehow belong together. A watercolor landscape, a curious geometric pattern, a drawing, a floral design, a tie, a notebook, a card — each seems to have its own story. This is the kind of place I wanted to create here: an artist’s curiosity shop, shaped by years of looking, drawing, painting, and following visual ideas wherever they lead. I’m Svitlana Mykhalevych, a Ukrainian artist living and working in Nice, France. My practice moves between watercolor, oil painting, drawing, illustration, and pattern design. I’m drawn to the sea, cities, flowers and gardens, changing light, color, rhythm, and the small visual details that give a place or an object its character.
