Refugees Thrive International

This store was developed to raise money and awareness for 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Refugees Thrive International, and also to feature the stunning original "Refugees Thrive" design by calligrapher Regan Maher. This design features the phrase "Refugees Thrive" in 12 languages spoken by refugees at our operating partner StARS in Cairo, Egypt: Fur, Amharic, Oromo, Arabic, Dinka, Nuer, Moro, Zagawa, Tigre, Somali, Tigrinya, and Bilen. The back features the Refugees Thrive International logo. All proceeds from this sale go to nonprofit organization Refugees Thrive International to support StARS' important work with refugees seeking safety. Refugees Thrive International raises awareness and funds local organizations in developing countries to ensure refugees have the protection and support they need to thrive. We envision a world in which all refugees are safe and healthy, refugee rights are respected and protected, and refugees are empowered to make their own decisions about their future. Refugees Thrive International identifies and partners with proven, local direct service providers in countries hosting disproportionate shares of the world’s refugees. Our founding partner is St. Andrew’s Refugee Service (StARS), operating in Cairo, Egypt since 1979. StARS provides child and adult education, legal assistance, and psychosocial services to refugees living in Cairo, Egypt. StARS is a nimble, effective local organization providing direct services to nearly 12,000 refugees a year from Ethiopia, Eritrea, Iraq, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Syria, among others. In 2015, StARS served more than 4,000 Syrian refugees alone. Nearly 70% of StARS staff are refugees.
