Continuing in the tradition established in Untold Stories from Iraq and Afghanistan, writer Valerie Finnigan - also known for her work on Korean War vol. 2 and Tiger on the Storm - is developing another military comicbook series and related memorabilia to benefit veterans' charities. The Real Women of the US Military chronicles the adventures and misadventures of women from the unsung heroines of World War Two to modern day infantry women. The WASP, the first book in the series, focuses on the pioneering aviatrixes of the Women Airforce Service Pilots and all they accomplished during World War Two. The books will feature the art of Monami Kun, herself a US Army veteran, Funds raised here will help defray the cost of producing and printing the books, with additional proceeds going to Arts in the Armed Forces and the Women Veteran Social Justice Network.
