RAINWATEROBSERVATORY

Rainwater Observatory and Planetarium is an educational ministry of French Camp Academy. This unique facility offers a window into the splendor of the heavens that few around the country or even the world can offer. We provide astronomy related programming designed for a variety of different groups and organizations including but not limited to universities, museums and other science centers, schools, seniors, youth, scouting, civic, churches and other faith based organizations. In a typical year as many as 200 groups visit and utilize our facilities. The observatory site is located on State Highway 413 just off of the Natchez Trace Parkway in central Mississippi near the village of French Camp (about halfway between Jackson and Tupelo).
