Purebreds Rescue

Dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of purebred and other exceptional cats and kittens. Our mission is to educate pet owners, and shelters about our breeds, and to stand by as a safe alternative to sending a cat to an animal shelter. We carefully match cats with their families by evaluating each cat's personality, temperament, and special needs. We determine the best fit for both the cat and the new family. The focus is not on getting ANY home, it is on getting the right forever home. Our cats are kept and cared for by foster parents that have experience and knowledge in the special needs of Persians, Himalayans, Maine Coons, Ragdoll, Birmans, Scottish Folds, Abyssinians, and other purebred or special hybrid cats and kittens. We have contacts with all major breed rescues and are willing to facilitate the rescue of these breeds into the appropriate rescue situation. We maintain a organization web site www.purebredsplus.org/ where available rescues are posted for adoption. We also post on the standard boards such as PetFinder and Safe Harbor. We are known for our ability to handle large breeder seizures and hoarder situations. In 2008/2009 we did two major intakes, a Persian and Himalayan breeder with 95 cats and an Abyssinian breeder with 60. We work closely with local shelters and are often contacted by them for assistance. In the first year of operation the group placed 368 cats and the numbers have increased with every year.
