About

Alfredo de Batuc is a painter in the representational manner. Metaphor and allegory figure prominently in his work which is frequently offered in a satirical vein with wicked humor or playful irreverence. His most recognizable work is a street mural honoring Dolores Del Río, a shining star of Hollywood's golden age. In 2005 Alfredo de Batuc was stricken with a severe case of Guillain–Barré syndrome which limited his active life. Still disabled, he has started creating small works on paper, mostly watercolors.
