About me... that's always difficult. I'm an obnoxious bitter demigod? Something like that? No. From my earliest concious memories I can say that I've always drawn, sketched and doodled. The first comic I drew was a booklet about a pig that didn't like mud. My mom had to do the text because I couldn't write yet. The first printed proof I have is the birthcards for my brother. My very own design! When I was about 13 and a member of the local (field)hockey team me and a friend started illustrating the club's weekly informationbooklet. We also did work for the local horseriding-club. From this I went to drawing weddingcards and calenders. My first printed t-shirt also dates from this period. My friend, L. op de Beek, and myself also put our skills together to work on a comic. He did the characters, I did the backgrounds. During my student-time (electro-tech) I started experimenting with the Amiga and graphics. ( the Ti 99/4A I had before had practically no graphic possibilities, though I did try! ). Eventually I became a repro-photographer/pre-print tech. This is well before the use of computers in every printshop. Among other things I learned here to set text in lead. Of course some people made use of my design-skills. After a period of looking for a new job I decided to go with my time and follow a training as DTP-er. This eventually got me a job as a programmer. So yes, I do know perl, java, javascript, html, css, sql and the lot. But frankly, Scarlett, I don't give a damn. Not anymore. I do not have the right mind for writing big applications. I'm chaotic, creative. So now I am a graphic designer/artist/illustrator and general source of wild ideas ( in every possible direction, from crimefighting to lifestyle and from space to cocktails ). Designs on the products here are only one facet of the multifaceted gem I am =P.
