Life in These United States

The United States of America is a federal presidential constitutional republic with 3 branches of government. It became an independent nation in July 1776. Patriots, represent the 13 original colonies who rejected British rule during the American Revolution. George Washington was the first president and the philosophy of the republic was expressed by Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson. The 16th president, Abraham Lincoln was a republican who ended slavery with his Emancipation Proclamation. The USA is known globally as a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities, and for economic freedom, quality of life, education, and human rights. Yankee Doodle Dandy is a Patriotic US Folk Song.
