À propos
In the summer of 2010 I spent eleven days in China, traveling from Shanghai to Beijing and several cities in between including Suzhou, Tai'an, Qufu and Ji'nan. I made
some sketches and took over a thousand photographs of places such as the Grand Canal in Suzhou, the summit of Mount Tai, The Forbidden City, Great Wall as well as the technological marvel that was the World Expo in Shanghai. I returned to my home in Sunrise, Florida, nourished by inspiration and entered a period of intense creativity.
Inspiration came again in the spring of 2013, when I made a short trip to Kyoto, Japan during cherry blossom week. This time, manga, anime, geisha, maiko and samurai worked their way into my subconscious. The result: Asian inspired art that can be described as pop surrealism or magical realism.
I hope you find these images entertaining and pleasing. Please message me at brotherkarloz4@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you.
