Zia Sun Throw Blanket

New Mexico's distinctive insignia is the Zia Sun Symbol, which originated with the people of Zia Pueblo (north central New Mexico) in ancient times. Its design reflects their tribal philosophy, with its wealth of pantheistic spiritualism teaching the basic harmony of all things in the universe. The Zia is composed of four sets of rays extending outward from a centre circle. All of these have a meaning: -The Centre Circle represents: Moon, Home Circle, Perfect Friendship, Forever, No Beginning, No Ending, and Sun. - The right hand rays are: Infancy, Youth, Maturity, and Old Age. - The bottom rays are: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. -The left hand rays are: Morning, Noon, Evening, and Night. - The rays at the top are: East, West, North, and South.
