The disc polynomials of Zernike are a complex set of polynomials orthogonal over the unit disc. Their graphical appearance is enticing. Here we see the three different pedigrees of these functions The top row shows the lowest order terms of the harmonic set. The bottom row shows the lowest order analytic polynomials. The figures in the middle are complex, but not analytic. The recursion formula anchors the bottom of the image. Math can be beautiful and thank your math teacher for your appreciation.

I ordered these with interiors of yellow, red, maroon, pink, navy blue, and light blue. Note that the navy blue is VERY dark and looks black in some lighting.
