Zakouma National Park Chad Postcard

Zakouma National Park is a conservation success story located in the Sudano-Sahelian ecosystem of southeastern Chad. It is renowned for its vast herds of African elephants, which have seen a remarkable recovery thanks to dedicated anti-poaching efforts, alongside a thriving population of Kordofan giraffes, lions, and over 300 species of birds that congregate around its vital seasonal floodplains. The park's landscape is a striking mosaic of open savannahs, dense acacia woodlands, and shimmering pans. During the dry season, the wildlife congregates around the remaining water sources, creating an intense and beautiful theatre of nature where predators and prey share the golden-hued terrain under the vast, clear African sky.
