Pierre Renoir was commissioned to make these paintings for a new French museum in the early 1890's and created a series of five paintings of "Young Girls at the Piano" taking great care in their detail.
Young Girls at the Piano (1892) is a vintage impressionism fine art musical family portrait painting. Two musician sisters reading sheet music and playing the piano instrument.
About the artist:
Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was an artist who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. Renoir's paintings are notable for their vibrant light and saturated colour, most often focusing on people in intimate and candid compositions.

Love this mug! Zazzle does such a GREAT job - it's shiny, and pretty, and really shows off the whimsical artwork extraordinarily well. Would be nice if the colour choices for interior & handle on the large mug were as many as on the smaller one.
