32 Aspects of Daily Life (also known as 32 Aspects of Women) was a series of ukiyo-e woodblock prints by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi from 1888. Each named after a characteristic or personality trait, this series surveyed a wide variety of women from various stations in life, which was unusual for its time. Ukiyo-e woodblock prints were the mass media of their time in Japan. The first in the series, Tiresome/Noisy: Habits of a virgin of the Kansei era [1789-1800], depicts a lovely young woman in kimono playing with a kitten.
