This historical painting is titled "The Surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown, October 19, 1781", or "Yorktown Surrender" by John Trumbull. The beautiful painting depicts the historic surrender of the British at Yorktown, the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. Interestingly, Cornwallis is not depicted in the painting, as he did not attend the formal surrender.
