This stone coaster features a cute, cartoon drawing of a one-eyed Chochin-obake. The Chochin-obake (提灯お化け, "paper lantern ghost") is a type of tsukumogami (付喪神, "artifact spirit") in Japanese folklore. On a paper lantern's hundredth birthday, the lantern comes to life! Make sure you treat your possessions well! The monster's name, in Japanese kanji, appears in the top left.
