Yellow Rose Tile

I love this radiant yellow rose. Roses have long been a symbol of love and passion. In fact, roses have been in existence for about 32 million years! In ancient times, the rose was associated with the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, and the Roman goddess of love, Venus. Used for hundreds of years to convey messages without words, they represent confidentiality. In fact, the Latin expression “sub rosa” (literally, “under the rose”) means something told in secret. In ancient Rome, a wild rose was placed on the door to a room where confidential matters were being discussed. The language of flowers, sometimes called floriography, was a Victorian-era method of communication. Floriograpghy, in which various flowers and floral arrangements were used to send coded messages, allowed individuals to express feelings which otherwise could not be spoken. Yellow roses symbolize joy, gladness and deep friendship.
