It is also commonly referred to as perch, striped perch, American perch, American river perch or preacher. In the United States, the native range extends south into Ohio and Illinois, and throughout most of the northeastern United States. It is also considered native to the Atlantic Slope basin, extending south to the Savannah River. It is native in most of Canada.It is a close cousin to the European Perch. The adults generally range from 4 to 10 in (10 to 25 cm) in length. Acrylics used for this piece.
