WWII Polish Air Force Postcard
1943 Gr 5 Polish Postage Stamp depicting the Polish Air Force during the Battle of the Atlantic. Issued in London by the Polish Government in Exile, this stamp was used on Polish ships and by the armed forces who continued to fight after Poland fell to Germany and Russia. By the end of 1945 over 195,000 poles were fighting in the Western Front. In the Eastern front the Polish forces numbered 200,000 fighting along side the Russians.
