WW1 1918 Women Working at a Munitions a Factory Tote Bag

The painting captures a moment of historical significance, a time when women were breaking down traditional gender barriers and stepping into roles once thought to be exclusively male. World War I provided an opportunity for women to demonstrate their capabilities and challenge societal expectations. - As men were called to the frontlines, women filled the void in factories, offices, and fields. The munitions factory, depicted in the painting, was a prime example of this shift. Women, once confined to domestic spheres, were now handling explosives, operating machinery, and contributing directly to the war effort. - This surge of female labour during the war marked a turning point in the fight for women's rights. It highlighted the importance of their contributions to society and paved the way for future advancements in gender equality. The painting serves as a testament to the courage, resilience, and groundbreaking work of these pioneering women. - Wellcome Collection placed this work in Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Bought this for my daughter for her birthday and she absolutely LOVES IT!!! She’s had this for almost a month and she’s been over using it. It nice, simple and sturdy. The size is perfect and the quality is very good. I will definitely purchase more of these. And, who doesn’t like a bag? The writing (print) is absolutely gorgeous, discrete and classy at the same time. It’s the perfect personalized gift.

These bags were super cute (I purchased 3). The material is more of a canvas look & feel. The colour of the bag is slightly off white, but the letters look exactly as pictured. I took 3 photos in different lighting. Would recommend! I liked how there was an option to choose the font and colour of the name. The words are legible and the colours are exactly as pictured.
