This beautiful cat lover's postcard features an illustration by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 – 1861) one of the leading Ukiyo-e artists of the late Edo period in 19th century Japan. Among his favourite subjects were cats. The image on this postcard features a cat welcoming his mistress by licking her face. The cat's mistress is in traditional Japanese kimono. Behind her is an ocean landscape complete with giant octopus. The perfet postcard to send to cat lovers.
