Winter in Union Square (1890). by Childe Hassam is a vintage impressionism fine art urban cityscape painting. This view is from 16th Street and the buildings from left to right are the hotel Morton House, the spire of Trinity Church and the domed building of the Domestic Sewing Machine Company. A view of Union Square in New York City in the winter season with horse drawn carriages on the roads, snow on the ground and trees in the park.
About the artist:
Frederick Childe Hassam (1859-1935) was a prominent and prolific American Impressionist painter, noted for his urban and coastal scenes. Hassam was instrumental in promulgating Impressionism to American collectors, dealers, and the museums.
