I have always admired Japanese Woodblock artists, especially from the Showa era, 1926 - 89. I like to think that this little chickadee evokes their spirit. The chickadee clings to a branch on a snowy day, holding a red berry on a string in his beak. Soft watercolors, black ink. There is a version, with the same chickadee image, that says 'Merry Christmas' on the front.
