Winston was our pet pig, named after Sir Winston Churchill. I'd read that when Winston Churchill would visit his farm to get away from the pressures of life during WW II and feed his pet pig apples. Churchill also said this about pigs: "Cat's look down on you, dog's look up to you, but a pig will look at you as an equal."
