William Wallace Scottish Freedom Poster

William Wallace Scottish Freedom Poster

The William Wallace Monument, a 20 foot high granite Celtic cross, at Robroyston, Glasgow, Scotland marks the site where the great Scottish freedom fighter was captured by English soldiers in 1305 during the Wars of Scottish Independence. Erected in 1900 by public subscription, the monument features a sword above the words ‘in defense’ and the Scottish Lion Rampant, the symbol used on the Banner of the King of Scots, which shows the lion standing erect on its back legs with front paws raised to strike. The Latin quotation at the base of the statue taught to Wallace in his boyhood reads, Dico Tibi Verum, Libertas Optima Rerum. Nunquam Servili Sub Nexu Vivito, Fili, which translated is My Son, Freedom is best, I tell thee true, of all things to be won. Then never live within the Bond of Slavery. I’ve used the first sentence of the quotation on the image and I’ve also transported the simple memorial statue far away from its currently humble surroundings in Robroyston to the romantic Tighnabruaich Viewpoint on the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll. In the background are buzz words from the Scottish independence referendum campaign including freedom, self determination, nation, scottish, scotland, yes, aye, also the Clan Wallace motto Pro libertate - for freedom.

My Bible verse postcard, turned out excellent. I love it and have it already framed. It was so reasonably priced for something done so well. Thank you to Zazzle and the artist! I thought it looked exactly like what I ordered. Perfect.

Poster is printed clearly, good quality . Inclusive of many prints . The shipping was the problem. Box was flimsy and item got bent.. only suggestion would have been to put in a canister or mark fragile. Printing was exactly as shown
