Galdikas. In the mid 1970's Birute Galdikas began her groundbreaking work on the island of Borneo and is often reerred to as one of the three "Leakey's Angels," along with her peers Jane Goodall (chimpanzees) and the late Dian Fossey (mountain gorillas).
