It is said that a Corvid (Crow, Raven, Magpie etc.) can develop white patches in his black feathers if his diet lacks in protein. This fellow must have been one such soul. Whatever the cause (caws?) such marked Ravens are a rarity to behold. So very individual and memorable. Painted from an actual photograph by the artist then finished digitally to enhance the colour tones.
