White Snake Pagoda / Hakuja No Tsuka, Kinkaku-ji, Kyoto, Japan. The stone pagoda on this small mound is a stupa that is dedicated to Hakuja, the White Snake, who controls the waters of the complex. The pagoda has four Buddhas carved into its base. It is located in the middle of Tranquillity Pond (Anmintaku), north of the Golden Pavilion Temple.
