Where My Heart Is | Love Poster

Beautifully romantic, this photograph depicts the sculpture ‘Psyche Revived By Cupid’s Kiss’ by Antonio Canova, 1793. The goddess Venus ordered Psyche to bring back from the Underworld a flask containing a scrap by beauty, but she was strictly forbidden to open it. Curiosity got the better of her, however. It had not been filled with beauty, but rather the ‘Sleep of Innermost Darkness, the night of Styx’, and no sooner had she opened the jar but she breathed the terrible fumes and fell into a deep, deathlike sleep. Seeing her lying motionless, Cupid rushed to her side and saved her by awakening her with a point of his arrow. The sculpture captures the moment as she awakens, just before they share a kiss. The photograph is accented with soft shades of pink and gold and fanciful heart-shaped points of light. The quotation, in deep grey, reads ‘I know exactly where my heart is’.
