This Barred owl was a resident near the area I lived in a year or so ago. He or she was oblivious to the people who went to visit off and on, hunting right near our feet, grabbing and eating frogs in the wet grounds near us, there almost all fall and winter till leaving again for more a more Northern home. Here, the owl sat, feathers wet from all night and early morning rain, alert, looking for prey.
