John William Waterhouse The Lady of Shalott tile. Oil painting on canvas from 1888. The Lady of Shalott is a beautiful Pre-Raphaelite painting of a scene from Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem of the same name. The painting depicts the doomed Lady of Shalott sailing towards Camelot in a small boat draped with a beautiful red tapestry she wove while falling in love with Lancelot. In the boat sit three candles and a crucifix from which the girl looks away. The lady herself is clothed in a flowing light blue medieval dress embroidered with gold. Her hair is light auburn and she holds the chain of the boat as it presses away from the dock into the reeds and lily pads beyond. A great gift for fans of John William Waterhouse, the Pre-Raphaelites, Romantic English painting, and Arthurian Legend.

From the pictures we needed to replace two tiles that had the old toothbrush and soap dish and the tile guy said two tiles would have to be removed. The tiles were PERFECT! just a slight color difference to the naked eye but they match pretty darn good. Tile guy had to shave the back because the 1957 tile was thinner but as you can see it worked out great! We are elated over the moon happy, Thank you!
