Walpurgis Night Witches Dance 3 postcard: Here we have a fancifull scene of witches making merry on Walpurgis night. this vintage art was no doubt inspired by the 17th century German tradition of a meeting of sorcerers and witches on May Day which was in turn influinced by discriptions of 15th and 16th century literature on witchcraft from the church and folklore. the artwork is influenced by vintage art "Gruss vom Hexentanzplatz" (the witches dance) it depicts women/witches flying thru the air as other unsettling creatures appear in the sky with a creepy old mansion, castle or ruin in the backgound upon a mountain.
