Women’s Suffrage is the movement to gain the right of women to vote in elections. It culminated in passage of the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution on June 4, 1919 with final ratification on August 18, 1920 by the vote of Tennessee. The reasonable assertion that women should have the same civil right to vote as men was typified in this 1913 postcard image with poem called “Votes for Women.”
