Volcanic Eruption of Mount Vesuvius (Live Volcano) Stone Coaster
This design features an artwork that was produced by Joseph Wright of Derby (1734–1797). The painting is currently housed in the Tate Britain gallery in London, England. It shows Mount Vesuvius (Monte Vesuvio) in a violent eruption. The white-hot heat of the volcanic eruption is surrounded by dense black clouds in the sky. It can be seen as a symbol of humanity's insignificance compared to the sublime power and majestic grandeur of nature. The volcano of Mount Vesuvius is located on the Gulf of Naples in Campania, Italy, and it most famously erupted in 79 AD, when it destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabiae, in addition to several other smaller settlements.

Custom sizing to an exact square allowed me to frame the photo perfectly for the ceramic coaster. There were all kinds of editing options for the images. Very fun to do and they look awesome. I made them as a gift but got a few doubly made for me! Really well done. I wanted the images dark with low contrast and saturated colours and they came out exactly as I hoped!
