Working from the left, Chap Osborne, F. M. McGlothlin, Mr. Webb, and Sam Davidson (sitting on porch) with moonshine still captured at Mud Lick in 1927 prohibition Virginia. During that era, if you messed with someone's still in Virginia ... you better be armed. The gentleman on the left lost his arm in a coal mine accident in 1905, so he became a mine guard. In 1920, he was appointed a Tazewell County deputy. He was killed shortly after this photo was taken in a gun battle, where he shot 15 men and 8 of them died.
