A Reproduction if the original map printed in 1612, Oxford, England. This map was made byJohn Smith documenting his discovery of and mapping of Virginia. Captain John Smith founded the colony of Jamestown. He was the first English explorer to map the Chesapeake Bay area and New England. The map is illustrated. The original was created by John Smith 1580-1631 And William Hole, d. 1624, engraver. Courtesy of the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Yale University where the original map resides.
