Vintage - Winken, Blinken and Nod,

A vintage children's nursery rhyme book illustration by Honour C. Appleton for the bedtime story of "Wynken, Blynken and Nod" (1926) which more often these days has a modern spelling of "Winken, Blinken and Nod." The original poem by Eugene Field starts out: "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod one night, Sailed off in a wooden shoe,— Sailed on a river of crystal light, Into a sea of dew." Honour C. Appleton (1879-1951) was an English illustrator and artist who illustrated over 150 books in her career, beginning with children’s books and moving to literary classics. This card is blank inside for your own message.
