Vintage West Indies Travel Postcard

This design has been created using a 1910 Royal Mail Line West Indies Cruise by M.V. “ALCANTARA” Travel Poster. The M.V. Alcantara (cruise ship) was launched on 23rd September 1926. The design features three women on a Caribbean Island harvesting produce and carrying it on their heads. The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company ran tours and mail to various destinations in the Caribbean and South America by 1927 it was the largest shipping group in the world. This poster was promoting the West Indies Cruise with stops at America House, Royal Mail House, Southampton, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff and Glasgow. We have created a collection of products using this design called ‘Vintage West Indies Collection.’
