Vintage Rio de Janeiro Collection Postcard

Printed in 1934 by the Tourism Department of Rio de Janeiro in a bid to attract foreign tourists to Rio de Janeiro, these beautiful postcards were distributed to Argentina, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, the United States and Portugal. They show a little about the culture of Rio at that time, and even then the famous beautiful women of Rio were used to attract foreign tourists to the city. You can see how all the women were white, which hints a little at the racism that was once rife in the city. This collection is simply wonderful, and guaranteed to be a talking point by anyone who sees them.
