VINTAGE MADONNA AND CHRIST CHILD Christmas Card. Mary in Blue Robe holding the Christ Child. A most beautiful painting. Perfect for Christmas or any time of year. I always liked this painting but only recently got any information about it. The way I found out was this. I found a decent resolution of it and created a poster as large as I could with it then posted that online then did a picture search with that image and went through the results most which were different but similar images. ... most were other Madonna and Christ Child paintings. Then, I found this:

BARON CARL VON BLAAS THE ELDER (April 28, 1815 - March 19, 1894) SIGNED AND DATED ROM (ROME) 1847
Student of Venice Academy 1832 - 1837.
"AND IN HIM SHALL ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED" English translation from Latin title taken from the Bible (Psalm 72:17 or Genesis 22:18 ... The latter a promise made to Abraham. The former a song from David to his son Solomon ... with hints of a Messianic prophecy.
What I see in the Latin: "BENEDICENTUR IN IPSO OMNES TRIBUS TERRAE".
My google translator gives: "ALL THE TRIBES OF THE LAND WILL BE BLESSED IN HIM".
Original was 17 1/3" x 33 1/2".

I really love this traditional icon Christmas card! The card really captures how I celebrate Christmas which I can share with friends and family. I especially love the back of the card as it states Merry Christmas in multiple different languages including Greek, Ukrainian / Russian, Arabic, French, English and more. This card is really something I am proud to send out during the holidays. The color of print on the card is brilliant and fantastic. The quality of paper used for the card. It actually feels like a proper Christmas card. If you want to spend money on some nice Orthodox Christmas cards, this is the one you want!

I love this card. The graphics are on the inside and back of this card. It's superb. You won't find anything like this anywhere else. The card stock is thick and impressive and the colors were spot on. The colors were printed exactly as it looks online. The gold color looks like gold.
