Vintage - In the Orchard,

Vintage artwork by Frantisek Dvorak titled "In the Orchard" is rich in colour and beauty. It features a young woman dressed in a flowing gold gown with sunflowers in her hair. She walks through an orchard gathering ripe fruit into her arms until she can carry no more. The Czech artist, born Frantisek Dvorak (1862-1927) was born with the name Frantisek Bruner, his father being Vaclav Bruner, a tailor. He later changed his last name to Dvorak and commonly went by the first name of Franz. He became interested in art at a young age, and began studying art first in Prague, then in Vienna, and later in Munich. His restless spirit next took him to France, Italy and the United States where he settled in Philadelphia for a time. While in the U.S., he had shows in Chicago, New York and Detroit.
