Pigen i Køkkenet (Girl in the Kitchen) (1883-1886) by Anna Ancher is a vintage impressionism fine art portrait painting featuring a daily life scene with a woman working in a kitchen in a house. This version is more rustic and appears to be a study for the final version. There is food on the table and she is working at the sink with no running water. A small child is playing in the corner. There is light coming through the curtain in the window.
About the artist:
Anna Ancher (1859-1935) was a Danish impressionist artist associated with the Skagen Painters, an artists' colony in the very north of Jutland, Denmark. A painter of light and sunshine.
