Vintage Halloween - Reading the Tea Leaves, Card

A vintage Halloween card image features a black cat, witch and crescent moon overhead with the word "Hallowe'en." Below is a verse surrounded by carved pumpkins and pumpkin vines. The verse is a reference to some of the parlour games played on Halloween in Victorian times. The verse is, "On Halloween night while drinking tea, Be sure the cat your friend will be; For then your future will be bright, Your true love you will see that night." This verse refers to the parlour game of learning who your true love will be when his/her face or initials appear in the tea leaves at the bottom of your tea cup. The message inside the card: "Have a simply bewitching Halloween."
