Vintage floral embroidered carpet, Vivid colours Throw Pillow

This embroidered carpet, created between May 1737 and May 1745, was crafted by Abigail Goodwin and her eldest daughter, Anna-Maria Goodwin. The piece was likely intended as a table covering, with its delicate embroidery reflecting the high value of such decorative textiles in the 18th century. The project took eight years to complete, with the start and end dates (1737 and 1745) embroidered at either end. Sadly, Anna-Maria passed away in 1743, and Abigail continued the work alone for the next two years. Remarkably, this carpet retains vivid, fresh colours, making it stand out from other carpets of the period.
