Vintage - Fairies Dancing in a Clearing,

A beautiful vintage illustration from a children's book which depicts a gathering of fairies dancing in a clearing in a garden. The artist, Richard Doyle (1824-1883) was born in London and was a notable illustrator of the Victorian era who learned art from his father, Irish cartoonist John Doyle. Doyle had three brothers who were also artists. He was the uncle of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes stories.
