Art nouveau, turn of the century belle epoque By Frédéric Alexianu, dit Hugo d'Alesi, 1895. Printing firm of Courmont Brothers, centennial of lithography, Rapp Gallery, Paris. A woman dressed in late Victorian fashion is looking at litho posters, for sale at a book stand. Alexianu Frederic, named Hugo d'Alesi, is a wainter and a graphic designer (born in 1849 and died in 1906) who made a large number of tourist posters for the railway companies in the nineteenth century.
