Vintage Art Deco Travel Poster Swiss Sion Valais

Reproduction copy of a 1930s Swiss travel poster featuring Sion, the capital of the canton of Valais, also one of the most important pre-historic sites in Europe. This art deco poster features the striking rock formations of Valeria and Tourbillon. Landmarks include the Basilique de Valère and Château de Tourbillon. The Simplon line from Lausanne to Brig was built in the late 19th century, the Simplon tunnel to Italy in the early 20th century. The modern electric Simplon line was constructed between 1924 - 1930.
